When You 'Wish Upon a Star', You Get TICA RW SGCA Jayuzuri Diamond Starlight....

3-October 2009 - It has been officially confirmed by TICA, that 'Solo' (a.k.a. RW SGCA Jayuzuri Diamond Starlight), at the very young age of just 2-years old, has been awarded the coveted "Best Bengal Alter of the Year" certificate for the 2008/9 season in the 'Europe North Region'; but even more importantly he is the Best Bengal Alter of the Year internationally, making him TICA's Best Bengal Alter in the world 2008/9!

Bengal cat TICA RW SGCA Jayuzuri Diamond Starlight aka SoloIn addition to this amazing honour, Solo attained "6th Best Alter of the Year" overall - to win this, he was judged against not only other Bengals, but also against all the many different cat breeds competing in the TICA European North region. Lastly, Solo's TICA 'title' has been elevated to 'Regional Winner Supreme Grand Champion Alter' (or RW SGCA). The TICA title 'Supreme', is the highest TICA show title a pedigree cat can achieve in its show career and lifetime - and Solo, the super-'star' has done it!

These are all huge achievements for any pedigree cat who is a veteran in the show ring, but they're monumental achievements for a 'fresh-faced' 2-year old youngster like Solo. Hence, we would like to offer our deepest, most heartfelt congratulations both to Solo and Roberta (his loving owner & 'mummy'), for his remarkable successes. Garnering all of these awards and achievements is more than any breeder or show cat owner could ever dream of - Solo has exceeded himself in doing our 'Jayuzuri Bengals' name proud, but most of all he has delighted his lovely mummy, Roberta. Roberta told us, "We (Solo and she) are always complimented at the shows we've attended this season. Everyone who meets him, thinks Solo is just lovely; they always comment on his stunning deep blue eyes, dark markings, placid temperament and sweet face."  Bengal cat TICA RW SGCA Jayuzuri Diamond Starlight Roberta loves showing Solo, because it is a wonderful bonding experience for the pair, and Solo thoroughly enjoys all the attention he receives from the people he meets.

Because Solo has done so fantastically well this season, his photo will be appearing in the 'TICA Yearbook' - a hardback book published by TICA for cat enthusiasts across the globe. It includes photos featuring all the best cats from the show season. The photo of Solo, to the right, is the one that has been selected for the 'TICA Yearbook'.

At the end of September, Roberta celebrated Solo's accomplishments while attending the TICA Regional Awards Ceremony and presentation followed by a gala dinner in Baden, Austria, where she collected some of Solo's awards. There will be another gala dinner in the U.K., later in the year, where Roberta will have the opportunity to celebrate the season with all her U.K. friends, which she is really looking forward to. Once again we'd like to say "well done!!!" to Solo and Roberta for presenting him so beautifully at the shows.

Many thanks to Marguerite for entrusting us with this beautiful boy.

Twinkle Twinkle Little Star... Jayuzuri Diamond Starlight 'Shines' Again

5-August 2008 - Talk about wishing upon a 'star' and dreams coming true... We are thrilled to report that young 'Solo' (Jayuzuri Diamond Starlight), owned and loved by Roberta Nayee, has consistently performed brilliantly at the TICA shows he has attended. At the tender young age of just under a year old, Solo has become a Quadruple Grand Champion Alter, and requires only one additional 'first place' award to become a 'Supreme', which is the highest TICA show title a pedigree cat can achieve in its show career and lifetime!)  It really is truly remarkable that Solo, still a baby and not quite even reaching his first birthday yet, has excelled to this outstanding level at such a young age. That's not all, wait for it, there's more...

Bengal cat Jayuzuri Diamond Starlight aka Solo with the trophy he won for being awarded the coveted title from Bengal Cat Club of GB of 'Best Seal Spotted Lynx Kitten 'Proud 'Bengal mummy', Roberta, excitedly shared the fantastic news that as of today, just 3-1/2 months into the 2008 show season, Jayuzuri Diamond Starlight (a.k.a. Solo) is the top Bengal Alter in the U.K. and as of 21-August 2008, he was ranked number 1 - the Best Bengal in the entire world, as documented on the TICA Bengal (cat) Estimated Standings ranking tables! (Click the link to the TICA Estimated Standings scoring site and scroll down to the "Alters (52)" ranking table to view all the rankings.) As of 23 Sept, Solo is ranked second in the world after Wildgold Nanuk, a Bengal in the USA.

Roberta tells us that Solo loves being shown, thoroughly enjoying all the attention lavished on him, and really 'strutting-his-stuff' at the shows he attends. A big 'well-done' to you, Solo -  and a big 'thank you' to Roberta for showing Solo so beautifully. Our warmest congratulations to both Solo and Roberta for these absolutely amazing show results - we couldn't be happier for you.

Jayuzuri Diamond Starlight - 'Shines Brightly' at the Bengal Cat Club of Great Britain TICA Cat Show 2008...

Jayuzuri Diamond Starlight aka Solo having a cuddle with his owner/mummy, Roberta Nayee at the BCCGB TICA cat show 20088-March 2008 - We are delighted to report that on attending his very first cat show ever, at the age of just under 8-months, Jayuzuri Diamond Starlight (a.k.a. Solo), owned and adored by Roberta Nayee, proved himself to be a superstar indeed. Jayuzuri Bengals would like to warmly congratulate Solo and say a very big "thank you" to Solo & Roberta for their outstanding day at the BCCGB TICA sponsored cat show.

The Bengal Cat Club of Great Britain held their annual TICA sponsored cat show in Bracknell on Saturday, 8-March 2008, where Solo was a real 'star' after being shown beautifully on the day by his human mummy, Roberta. A summary of the results are outlined next.

Roberta shared the exciting details with us as follows: There were 4 rings in total and Solo excelled in all of them. He was actually placed either first, second or third in all the rings in which he competed. An unusual and impressive result, especially for a Bengal breed show.

Solo won 'Best of Colour' against 4 others, in both of the 2 All-breed rings, as well as in both of the 2 Speciality rings. Young Solo then went on to be awarded a 'Best of Division', two 2nd 'Best of Division' awards, and a 3rd 'Best of Division in a group of 5 other kittens. Next, in the 'Bengal Kitten Congress', Solo scored 3rd Best of Colour, and 3rd Best of Division'.  Now, for the 'icing on the cake'... In the ring judged by Pamela Barrett, who is a director of TICA in America, Solo was 'finalled' (i.e. selected as one of the top kittens out of the entire group to compete for the "Best Kitten" award in the final). In the end, Solo was awarded 3rd 'Best Kitten' overall, out of a group of 33 kittens!!

When Pamela was describing why she had chosen Solo for her 3rd 'Best Kitten' award out of the 33 formidable kittens in attendance, she remarked:  "...he (Solo) has a lovely thick tail to the tip, good leg markings, wide head, lower set ears, dip in his nose, strong shoulders and hips, and nocturnal type eyes."

In total, Solo received a very respectable 390 points by the end of the show. Roberta is 'over the moon' at seeing her Jayuzuri baby, Solo, finish so incredibly well at a very challenging show. Roberta said she "is really proud of all Solo's ribbons, and especially his lovely rosette."

"Cheers - Solo and Roberta for doing Jayuzuri Bengals proud, we're just so pleased you both enjoyed your fun day out."

          - Trina & Andy and all the Jayuzuri family.
