Jayuzuri Diamond Starlight - 'Shines Brightly' at the
Bengal Cat Club of Great Britain TICA Cat Show 2008...
8-March 2008 -
We are delighted to report that on
attending his very first cat show ever, at the age of just under
8-months, Jayuzuri Diamond Starlight (a.k.a. Solo), owned and adored by Roberta Nayee, proved
himself to be a superstar indeed. Jayuzuri Bengals would like to warmly
congratulate Solo and say a very big "thank you" to Solo & Roberta for
their outstanding day at the BCCGB TICA sponsored cat show.
The Bengal Cat Club of Great Britain
held their annual TICA sponsored cat show in Bracknell on Saturday,
8-March 2008, where Solo was a real 'star' after being shown beautifully
on the day by his human mummy, Roberta.
A summary of the results are outlined
next.
Roberta shared the exciting details with
us as follows: There were 4 rings in total and Solo excelled in all of
them. He was actually placed either first, second or third in all the
rings in which he competed. An unusual and impressive result, especially
for a Bengal breed show.
Solo won 'Best of Colour' against 4
others, in both of the 2 All-breed rings, as well as in both of the 2
Speciality rings. Young Solo then went on to be awarded a 'Best of
Division', two 2nd 'Best of Division' awards, and a 3rd 'Best of
Division in a group of 5 other kittens. Next, in the 'Bengal Kitten
Congress', Solo scored 3rd Best of Colour, and 3rd Best of Division'.
Now, for the 'icing on the cake'...
In the ring judged by Pamela Barrett,
who is a director of TICA in America, Solo was 'finalled' (i.e. selected
as one of the top kittens out of the entire group to compete for the
"Best Kitten" award in the final). In the end, Solo was awarded 3rd
'Best Kitten' overall, out of a group of 33 kittens!!
When Pamela was describing why she had
chosen Solo for her 3rd 'Best Kitten' award out of the 33 formidable
kittens in attendance, she remarked: "...he (Solo) has a lovely
thick tail to the tip, good leg markings, wide head, lower set ears, dip
in his nose, strong shoulders and hips, and nocturnal type eyes."
In total, Solo received a very
respectable 390 points by the end of the show. Roberta is 'over the
moon' at seeing her Jayuzuri baby, Solo, finish so incredibly well at a
very challenging show. Roberta said she "is really proud of all Solo's
ribbons, and especially his lovely rosette."
"Cheers - Solo and Roberta for doing
Jayuzuri Bengals proud, we're just so pleased you both enjoyed your fun
day out."
- Trina & Andy and all the Jayuzuri
family.
